The 2017 Houston Healthcare Recruitment Marketing Outlook

While we as a recruitment advertising agency tend to talk mostly about energy recruitment marketing when it comes to Houston, it should be noted that healthcare is a strong player in that market too. While the economy in Houston has been challenging for some, healthcare seems to be growing and, according to Transwestern will continue a strong progression into the new year.

According to their Houston Healthcare Marketing Year-End 2016 report, “the Houston healthcare market continued to expand through the fourth quarter as hospital systems looked to increase market share through acquisitions, partnerships, and adding new facilities. The development pipeline remains active with over 5.5 million SF in various stages of construction.” This assessment is due to such things as the quarter four Sovereign Health of California lease of 57,605 square feet and new transactions like the HCP acquisition of the Kingwood Medical Arts Building. Awareness Campaigns

From social media advertising to general recruitment branding getting the idea out that new facilities will be opening and offering new positions is critical when building a presence. This sort of proactive marketing will help you build a talent pipeline for your healthcare clients so that when the new facility opens, positions will be easier to fill.

Employee Referral Program Promotion

There is no time like the present to revive or institute an employee referral program. In addition to bringing in qualified hires for existing roles and facilities, it will help start a buzz among people who might be looking for a job with a reputable company in a different location in the future.

Utilize Existing Data

Chances are if your client is established in the Houston market, they have receive lots of applications that were from great candidates, but weren’t a good fit for a specific role. Ask your client to pull the list of candidates and see about starting a reengagement campaign. Try to match them with future roles so that you can be ready in advance. In addition, you can look at data from previous hires to find commonalities and get really specific with your future job descriptions as to what you’d like to see in future hires.
